First time renting a car in the UK? Start here.
You will need a full valid licence held for at least twelve months (twenty-four for performance and luxury categories). International visitors should bring their licence plus an IDP if your licence is not in English.
UK rentals include third-party liability as standard. We explain collision damage excess on the booking page — lowering excess is optional. Take photos at pickup; our app makes condition reporting a two-minute job.
Motorways are straightforward: keep left unless overtaking, and watch for smart motorway variable limits. Average speed cameras are common through roadworks — the limit on the gantry is the limit, even if traffic feels slow.
Fuel is sold in litres; our economy fleet is mostly petrol. Diesel is available on request. Return policy is full-to-full unless you prepaid a fuel package.
Roundabouts follow the rule: give way to traffic already on the circle. If you are nervous about your first left exit on a multi-lane roundabout, say so at handover — our team loves a five-minute chalk talk.
